Reiki is universal energy of the highest form. Reiki is pure love.

The practice of using Reiki was developed by Mikao Usui about 80 years ago, in Japan, as a way of healing one's own mind body spirit. From this practice comes the ability to do hands on healing. Reiki goes to the cause of the problem while at the same time treats the symptoms. 

The "Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai" founded by Mikao Usui is a closed order and much devoted to spiritual practice as a path to enlightenment. Many years ago one of Usui's senior students was encouraged to open a clinic in Japan and this led to a lady from Hawaii taking this wonderful practice to the west.

The lineage I am attuned to is Gendai Reiki. Hiroshi Doi, the founder, studied for many years at Usui's Gakkai, and now unites Traditional Japanese Reiki with our modern lifestyle to bring us Gendai Reiki .Ho.

Gendai makes Reiki practice easier for us in the west to use this wonderful healing energy to ease our way along our own path to enlightenment and to healing others.
