Bowen, the gentle healer

Bowen is a simple, gentle yet powerful healing tool that encourages the body, mind and spirit to repair itself. Originally developed by Tom Bowen, in Geelong Victoria in the 1950's, for humans, Bowen Therapy is now used extensively on horses and small animals.

Bowen Therapy is applied by a series of small, non-invasive moves over muscles and tendons. These small movements set up a response that balances and renews the body's energy patterns – effectively re-setting the muscles. With each move Bowen works on many levels at once [Surface facia, deep muscles, organs and meridians] making it a truly holistic treatment.

Prior to commencing a session with an animal, time is ALWAYS taken to gain their confidence, to keep them relaxed and thus gain their co-operation. This is vital for the full benefit of a treatment to be gained. Bowen is a wonderful therapy for all animals. It is not painful and pauses between moves allow the animal to feel what is happening. Animals love Bowen and excellent results do occur.
